Children impress; the way to go!

I was very impressed with the contest we had for school students ( co-ordinated by our team mate, Revathi R.).
On August 22, 20 schools assembled at Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Luz ( which has been now air-conditioned) for the event.
Each team had chosen a theme to work on. And some were interesting.
One was on a quaint heritage street called Mathala Narayan Street.
Another was on the San Thome Post Office, a hole in the wall with equipment which was used in the 50s!
Another was on St. Columban's school of the Presentation nuns in north Madras.

Dr. S. Suresh and V. R. Devika were the judges and Deborah Thiagarajan who promotes Dakshinachitra was the guest and she gave away the prizes. The team from P. S. Senior, Mylapore, which presented 'Armenian Church' walked away with the top prize.
Hindu Colony Chellammal Vidyalaya from Nanganallur and Children's Garden, Mylapore, were chosen second and third best.

We should have more schools in this event next year.
And also have a similar contest for city colleges.
